Who I am & What I believe in

What I often hear people say upon meeting me for the first time is somewhere along the lines of “you’re not what I would expect a therapist to be like. You’re so normal.” That last word is then quickly explained to mean “natural” or “approachable”. This makes me laugh every time.

I am human. I wander, I cry and I eat chocolate, too. I have suffered, I have failed, and I have learned to accept myself with all my flaws.

There is no need to don a mask or put on a show pretending to be perfect. Perfection is dull; not to mention a myth.
Humanity, on the other hand, is the most interesting phenomenon to observe and explore.
Or so it is to me.

It was this fascination with humanity that drove me away from pursuing conventional medicine, and switch to the study of psychological and complementary medicine.

Whilst interning at a surgical scrub room, I realised that I was more interested in how people feel and cope with their issues, rather than the physical aspects of getting them through surgery. In short, medicine excited me whilst dealing with a conscious, feeling, sensing human; not the unconscious body under anaesthesia.

I was fascinated to see first-hand the enormous role the human mind plays in the process of recovery.

My curiosity and eagerness to help people with their emotional struggles have taken me on a professional journey through some large international sporting organisations. Numbers or celebrity status have never concerned me — it has always been people, their stories, and their emotions that piqued my interest and ignited my readiness to help.

I firmly believe that awareness is the path toward a more compassionate world. If we could dissolve the stigma around mental health, fewer people would self-medicate and resort to harmful coping mechanisms. I want to encourage people to let go of judgmental behavior and show more compassion and empathy.

Sincere empathy is my driving force, whilst innate resilience and a quirky sense of humor serve as a lifeboat when things get hard.

About Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is a state of mind that everyone can naturally enter so that, for therapeutic purposes, beneficial corrections may be impressed directly onto the subconscious mind.

Hypnotherapy is an effective method by which to treat the sources of various issues, as well as elevate unrecognized potential.

When I met Lena, I was at the lowest point of my life and the idea of seeking therapy was my last hope and the last card that I ever thought it would help. But I wish I would have realized earlier that this should have been the first step to fix my life.
After our first session that didn’t target the… Read on…

From someone who chain-smoked 6 cigarettes the 10 minutes before my hypnosis session, to someone who hasn’t touched, let alone, thought of having a cigarette in months now, I’m in shock and awe. When a friend recommended Lena to me, I was anxious, I was doubtful, and I was stressed out. But… Read on…
